Tues. Feb. 2

I love spending time at home with Dan. I was able to come home early again today and Dan was a little more alert. I got him some lunch and he ate it all. Of course I had to feed him, but he ate! Later this evening he was sitting in his chair in his room and he tried to get up. When I got downstairs he was on the floor. We worked together for almost 1/2 hour and I got him over to the bed but couldn't get him up so I called Bishop who came right over. (Amy sent some hot homemade bread with him.) Bishop was able to pick him up and help me get him into bed. I'm going to let him rest a bit and then feed him some dinner and get him ready for bed. I know he's tired. I am. This is the first time I've had to call someone to come help me move him. The VA called today and I'll call them back tomorrow. Hopefully, they'll be able to see him soon.

  1. I'm glad someone was there to help you out. I know many people who have fallen and had to have people come over to help them up - so it's nothing to feel bad about.

okay this is off topic kind of, but it's funny so I have to share. Someone told us this the other day. Their friend, who was older, was taking a bath and couldn't get out of the bathtub. Can't remember if he injured himself or what, but he was stuck. Tried for 2 hours to get out. His wife couldn't help him enough to get him out. So they called 911 and they sent the FIRE TRUCK over....they were soooo embarrassed when the neighbors kept asking why the firemen were at their house. "I was naked and couldn't get out of the bathtub".

At least you can be glad you didn't have the firemen come over and rescue you from the tub!:)
